Manage Pre-order

In SarasX you can sell an item before it is produced.

The workflow consists of following steps:

1. Activate a design for pre-order by executing the steps given here
2. Create a sales entry with the batch id generated by pre-order activation step
3. De-activate (optional step) if the design is no longer allowed to take pre-order

• Open design menu
• Go to design master and open the design for which pre-order is required
• If you have permission you will see a button by name Activate Pre-order
• A popup will open in which you have to provide the Cost with reserve, cost without reserve, and retail price
• System will estimate the cost if pre-calculation is available via Bill of material, else initial cost will be blank
• Once the required details are provided, click Confirm button
• After Confirm button is clicked, system will create a new batch id for this design and it will link it with the design master so that all the analytical information like: category, product type, image and other columns specific to your customised scenarios, will be available in the reports.

Note: This batch id will have inventory of 0, and if you want to take 50 pre-order you don't need to click pre-order button 50 times.

• Open design menu
• Go to design master and open the design for which pre-order was activated earlier
• If you have permission you will see a button by name Deactivate Pre-order
• Click the button and system will deactivate the pre-order for the selected design.

Note: You can activate the pre-order later whenever you want, using the steps provided in the scenario 1

Sales order workflow is same as before, except you need to select the pre-order batch id

Note: If you are unaware of the sales system, then follow this link to train yourself on the complete process of sales.

In the sales search screen, check for the tab named Pending pre-order. This will show all the sales that still have the pre-order id.
